‘Poldark’ episode 3 preview (PBS): Aidan Turner’s Ross and big moves

“Poldark” has delivered a pair of episodes now on PBS, and hopefully with that has started to capture your attention as one of the most complex, interesting British imports we’ve seen in some time. Aidan Turner is a magnetic and complicated leading man, and he has a whole slew of interesting characters surrounding him. (Warning: Minor spoilers ahead from tonight’s episode!)

While we have already seen the British airing of next week’s new episode, we do not want to say too much right now other than that this is going to be an episode ahead that focuses quite a bit on Ross’ personal and professional exploits. You will see more of him diving into the mining business, and at the same time you will start to see further development of what is going on with him and Demelza as characters. They have one of the most interesting dynamics on TV, so prepare to see that exploited in a good way.

Meanwhile, Francis is going to also have a big part to play, courtesy of some of his own feelings and inadequacies. We wish that we could say that this is a story that gets a little better over time … but we are not entirely sure that it will.
