Jimmy Fallon doing well after hand injury (photo)

Tonight Show -For those who are wondering, the show will very much go on for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” despite a seemingly painful hand injury that the host suffered on Friday. This injury led to him canceling a show, but at the same time, he seems to be very much on the mend. Just look at the photo below from his Twitter for some more evidence of that.

Fallon will have at least a little bit of time to rest up, given that his show is going to be off all next week as we get ready for the July 4 holiday. This is probably especially a good thing for him. While many other late-night hosts tend to spend the majority of their shows behind a desk and doing interviews, Fallon has always been a little more of the high-energy variety, and prefers to mix things up with a wide array of different sketches and games. We don’t think any of them are necessarily running the risk of an aggravated hand injury or anything, but isn’t it sometimes much better to be safe than anything else? We certainly think so.

Many late-night hosts are all collectively preparing for a little bit of time off the air. Summer is a slower few weeks in the ratings, and this allows the hosts to rest up a little for the promotional tours in the fall for some other TV shows. They are a good destination for interviews and other fun stuff.

For now, Fallon can celebrate continuing to be #1, though he does not have that much competition with David Letterman off the air.

Best wishes to Jimmy on the rest of his recovery! Also, be sure to sign up right now in the event you want some other TV updates on just about everything we cover, courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: NBC.)
