‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Meet the newest tech wizard

Is someone closing in on Felicity Smoak’s position as resident tech wizard within the “Arrow” world? While we are not quite sure that we can say this just yet, it does at least seem like there is going to be someone else on the upcoming fourth season who, to quote Liam Neeson, comes with a particular set of skills.

According to a report coming in now from TVLine, the CW series is currently in the process of casting an African-American man in his twenties who is going to be a tech specialist. He will heavily recur throughout the season, which means that even after Emily Bett Rickards’ character returns to Starling City after spending time traveling abroad with Oliver, he is not necessarily going to be going anywhere.

The report references two different possibilities for this particular role on the page, and we feel like both of them are intriguing in their own way. First and foremost, we have the possibility of them being some sort of replacement in wherever Team Arrow is working now that their previous hideout has been exposed. Thea, Diggle, and Laurel are presumably all going to continue to fight crime even with Oliver away. Meanwhile, another suggests that he could be an adversary for Felicity at HIVE, the organization that is going to be the evil empire at the center of the city.

Here’s one other possibility that we will throw out there right now: Could it be that he potentially is some sort of employee of Palmer Technologies? We know that Ray is still around, and maybe he needed to hire someone new with Felicity away.
