‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17 star Mariska Hargitay meets ANOTHER Olivia Benson
The friendship between Mariska Hargitay and Taylor Swift has been a fun one to watch blossom over the past couple of years. Swift has been a longtime fan of “Law & Order: SVU,” and she has also made it clear that Hargitay is one of the people that she admires for the causes that she stands for and all of the work that she puts in to pay the message of her show forward. Oh, and Taylor also named her cat after Mariska’s character Olivia Benson.
So in a particularly fun moment from one of Taylor’s Philadelphia shows on her 1989 World Tour over the weekend, Mariska went backstage to spend some time with the cat Olivia Benson, and all of it was captured via the Instagram video. Sure, this is just some lighthearted fun, but given how serious Hargitay’s show is the majority of the time, it’s nice to see her in a completely different setting like this.
This is actually the second “different setting” that you’ve seen Mariska in with Taylor over the past month or so, as she also had a brief cameo as the character Justice during her “Bad Blood” music video.
Hargitay has already started work on the upcoming 17th season of “SVU,” and after a hiatus, filming will resume for more news episodes a little bit later in the summer. There is no premiere date yet officially, but our feeling is that it will premiere most likely around Wednesday, September 23.

Thank goodness Kelli Giddish is still part of the show(at least for now). There are lots of people out there that want to turn this into the Mariska Hargitay, Taylor Swift, Baby Noah and Little Kittens show. Because this show is on NBC, you always have to wonder if something stupid like that could happen.

If the question here is “Which Olivia Benson is the Cat’s Meow?” I’ll go with the little furry one. The one that walks on two legs should have fought the stupidity of NBC to get rid of Danny Pino. The problem is that she is more on the NBC management team than with the actors/actresses. How horrendous could NBC be if SVU doesn’t come back for an 18th season(WITH KELLI GIDDISH)? It makes me sick to think about it.
