NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 9 spoilers: When are the blind auditions filming?

The Voice -You know officially now that Gwen Stefani is going to be returning as a coach for the upcoming ninth season of “The Voice,” but we do come today bearing some other news to go along with that: Just when the Blind Auditions are actually going to start filming.

Mjsbigblog has uncovered ticketing information for this part of the show, and it reveals that there are nine different taping periods spread out over the course of five days (June 29-30 and July 7-9). While we know that there is much more for the coaches to tape beyond this (interviews, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, other banter), this shooting schedule is probably why this is in part such a desirable gig. You promote yourself, auditions are all filmed in the Los Angeles area, and there are only a certain number of contestants who make it this far in the process. The show gives its contestants a chance to shine for sure, but this entire process is also very favorable to the talent on-camera, as well.

After they film all of the behind-the-scenes stuff and the various pre-taped segments for the competition, Gwen and Pharrell, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton will then have to be available again in late fall for the live shows, and even then we are talking two live shows a week, plus extra time with the artists and preparing for whatever performances lie ahead.

There is no firm premiere date just yet for the upcoming season of “The Voice,” but right now we would write Monday, September 21 in pencil into your calendar. That is when the majority of the other shows are set to premiere on major networks.
