‘A Deadly Adoption’: See trailer for Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig’s Lifetime TV movie

Lifetime -There are few Lifetime projects out there that are shrouded in more mystery than “A Deadly Adoption.” Heck, this is one that was never supposed to even be leaked at all! There were reports that Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell were looking to keep this project under wraps until the very last second, and then surprise the world with it. There were then rumors about them wanting to scrap it when word came out.

Despite everything, the TV movie is launching a week from Saturday, and the first trailer for it is awkward / hilarious at the same time, sort of in the way where you watching someone tell a really bizarre story at a party, and you never know if they are joking or note. The former “Saturday Night Live” stars clearly don’t need to do this movie, and it is that feeling that makes the prevailing sentiment here simply that this has to be some sort of elaborate joke made for the purposes of having a little fun with the medium. Lifetime movies are never taking that seriously, and this is most likely their play on one of them.

The question that you have to ask yourself when debating whether or not to watch this is the following: Is the entire movie going to be two mostly-comic actors pretending to play serious really badly? It’s almost experimental and postmodern in a way.

Ultimately, we’re interested to see what happens here, and let’s be honest: What else are you going to be watching on June 20? It’s hardly a month for huge programming save for maybe the “Game of Thrones” finale.
