‘Big Brother Canada’ officially renewed by Global for season 4

BB -The good news for fans of “Big Brother Canada” today is very simple: The show and its network Global are not making you wait very long at all to learn when or if it is coming back on the air: It’ll be returning for a fourth season in 2016! In a press release today, the network and parent company Shaw Media hyped up the higher overall ratings and increased traffic / streaming hours on the live feeds as some of the primary reasons for the renewal. The series will remain on Global after spending two seasons over on Slice.

We know that we were probably one of the few in favor of the show moving back to cable, only because that came with fewer content restrictions and a greater emphasis on crazy behavior to go along with all the twists. Still, looking back there was a whole lot to like out of season 3. It produced a winner in Sarah Hanlon who was for the most part liked by the viewing public, one of the best runner-ups we’ve seen in Godfrey Mangwiza, and also a few other good characters and moments.

Casting for the show will probably intensify later this fall, but we’ve got some other priorities to get through before then in “Big Brother 17.” Unfortunately, the sad thing about this season is that we haven’t heard about how Canadians can view the live feeds for it yet without some sort of tremendous workaround effort. We know that this is not the best place for complaining on that anyway.

Ultimately, we’re happy for the people behind the scenes at “Big Brother Canada,” who are all fantastic and work very hard to put on a great show.
