‘The X Factor’ UK: Zayn Malik not joining as judge, despite rumors

This should not surprise you at all, but there are apparently some reports out there about almost every member of One Direction joining the “X Factor” judging panel in one form or another. Think about it here for a minute. We’ve heard already about everyone from Louis Tomlinson to Niall Horan to even departed member Zayn Malik joining the show, which may be on the hunt for one or potentially two new judges for the new season. (Louis Walsh’s exit feels all but assured.)

We can at least for sure write Zayn off the list of contenders now, as his representatives have told the Mirror that any talk of him becoming a judge on the new season is just that. We feel almost like all of these rumors are nonsense at the moment, mostly because how in the world is someone like Louis or Niall going to have time to do the show?

Just think about this for a minute. These guys are a part of the most successful band in recent memory, and have toured the world, recorded several albums, and also done promotional tours like nobody’s business. Doing a reality show is fairly demanding. Whily you don’t work year-round, you are almost committed to being exclusively in Britain throughout the fall, and you need to also be around part of the summer.

Ultimately, that is a lot of time to commit if you are in a group like One Direction, especially when you can make so much money doing other things.
