‘American Horror Story’ alum Jessica Lange re-teams with Ryan Murphy for Broadway show

Lange -While Jessica Lange may no longer be a part of the “American Horror Story” franchise after four seasons, she is still finding a different way to work with executive producer Ryan Murphy. This time around, she will be working with him on a stage show.

Sources confirm to Entertainment Weekly that Lange is working with Murphy and the Roundabout Theatre Company on an adaptation of Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night, which will begin previews on March 31 and is tentatively set to open on April 19 at the American Airlines Theatre. Gabriel Myrne and John Gallagher Jr., two veterans of the stage world, will help to round out the cast.

For Lange, this is clearly a great coup to be able to continue working with Murphy on something, and her return to the stage has been talked about for some time. The primary reason that she left “American Horror Story” was to go on to do other things, and we also presume that there was really not much that she had left to even do on the show anymore when you consider all of the awards recognition she received for it over the years.

While she takes on this role, the show will go on for many of her former co-stars. The likes of Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, and more will star in “American Horror Story: Hotel,” which will be premiering at some point this fall on FX. We imagine that we will have a whole lot more in the way of news on that show to share as we get a little bit closer to it ultimately premiering.
