’19 Kids and Counting’ loses one sponsor already in wake of Josh Duggar scandal

19 Kids and Counting -While at the end of the day it is TLC that will make the decision one way or another when it comes to continuing to air “19 Kids and Counting,” you better believe that advertisers are going to have a chance to have their voice heard during all of this at the same time. They are the people who are spending the big money to have themselves heard, and they don’t want to attach themselves to anything with even a slice of controversy.

So following the confession by Josh Duggar amidst allegations that he molested multiple minors while still a teenager, TMZ reports that one advertiser in General Mills has already removed the show from its future advertising plans. This is one of the biggest companies in the food industry, and their goal is to reach the sort of family audiences that would watch a show like this. Losing them is a pretty big deal.

While TLC has not announced a firm decision, we still feel like this is not going to end well for “19 Kids and Counting” as a series. Despite whatever ratings and attention it brings to the network, you simply don’t want to associate yourselves with any controversy of this kind. It’s why they already dropped “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”

Where is what we wonder: In between all of the allegations over the place nine months, is it possible that the network could consider getting out of the “putting unusual people on TV” business?
