‘Supernatural’ season 11: What lies ahead for Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, cast

Tonight, “Supernatural” season 10 is coming to a close with what we can only imagine will be a dramatic and game-changing event that will set up an epic eleventh season of the show, which is going to begin on The CW at some point this fall. When will that be? Think around the second week of October, which is when they have chosen to launch the schedule at many points in the past.

When it comes to the show’s longevity beyond next season, all we can say for now is that there are no plans at present for the network to end it. The ratings are still solid, and so long as they remain that way and the budget makes sense, it is probably not going anywhere. Programming head Mark Pedowitz has already made it clear that he is a huge fan of the show, and will keep it on so long as ratings are good and series stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles want to stay aboard. We have a hard time thinking that there could be a show without either of them aboard.

All we hope is that no matter the twist and turn, the show continues to stay strong creatively. We’d love to see some new mythology or monsters introduced next season, and a chance to move a little ways away from the Mark of Cain story. While entertaining, we have seen it around for a solid year and a half. There has to be a chance to see something new.
