‘Britain’s Got Talent’ review: Vladimir Georgievsky, UDI, Ella Shaw all shine

More news -While we do know that we are definitely on the late side with this particular “Britain’s Got Talent” review, we do at least still want to spend a minute or two on the episode that came last weekend before diving into the new one. After all, there was some good talent here that needs to not be shortchanged! This includes Alesha Dixon’s own golden buzzer act, which came after a period where she was shown to be incredible grumpy for a time.

Aaron Carty – Yes, this was an entirely silly drag act, but there was something about the enthusiasm and the surprise that made it all worthwhile. Remember here that this was a guy who gave this pre-audition package suggesting almost that he was going to be yet another singer.

Vladimir Georgievsky – We just love this sort of performer. There are not many slapstick-style performances left, especially one that is anywhere near as good as he is. Comedy is serious business, and that sometimes is overlooked.

Entity Allstars – Yes, Lauren Platt’s brother is a part of the group! They are solid, but not necessarily anything that reinvents the dance crew mold. They will have to really focus on bringing something new to the table if they are really interested in finding themselves another gear in the competition. They do have that golden buzzer to back them up.

Ella Shaw – Maybe her real talent here is as a songwriter just as much as it is a singer. She is someone who could really benefit from having a longer period of time to actually convey the message of her song, and allow us to hear it. It’s a little different from someone doing a cover.

Chloe Crawford – We really like her! We just wish we saw more of her. There is a shortage of good magicians this year, and we like her story of a former magician’s assistant from Las Vegas who is striking out on her own in her home country.

UDI – They are far from the first dance-and-light performance group we have ever seen, but what we do like about this is that there are opportunities to tell such a wide array of different stories through this medium. A very strong audition most likely will yield some other great performances coming at some point down the line.

Alison Jiear – There are clearly a ton of singers once again this season, and Alison is very good. We probably prefer Ella overall just because of her doing something truly original, but we did take notice of her.
