With there only being two weeks left on “Dancing with the Stars” this season, we are getting to the point where the competition is intense, and it’s really hard to figure out just who is in first place, and who is likely to leave the ballroom next.
Therefore, we have to base our rankings this week based on tiny clues — such as support online in addition to the judges’ scores over the course of the season — to determine who are the most likely stars left to make the finale.
4. Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas (last week: #3) – It’s hard for us to put Katherine here, mostly because we believe her to be the strongest dancer out of everyone this whole season.
Unfortunately, she also is the dancer who seemingly has the smallest voting block. It took until the end of the show for her to be declared safe — and while she was not technically in the bottom two, she is the person that we are the most concerned about moving forward.
3. Maria Menounos and Derek Hough (last week: #2) – Maria and Derek are of course also strong dancers, and they likely have the best chemistry out of everyone that is left this season. They’ve battle through injuries, and this sort of perseverance is always recognized by voters.
Here’s the issue with Maria — William has a huge support system whether it is through his skill or being tall, dark, and handsome, and Donald has the always-fantastic NFL voting block.
2. Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd (last week: #4) – This is no major offense to Donald, but technically he is probably the worst dancer left in the competition when it comes to ballroom routines. At the same time, he makes up for it with some of his intensity and spirit during some of the fast-paced numbers.
If the standard set by some past seasons holds when it comes to football stars, we’ll be shocked if he does not make the finale — however, we see him more as Jerry Rice than Hines Ward at this point.
1. William Levy and Cheryl Burke (last week: #1) – William getting such fantastic scores this past week only further helps him when it comes to cementing his place as the one to beat this season. He’s been the darling of the press (and of many voters), and even his edit on the show reminds us a bit of J.R. Martinez or Donny Osmond.
Right now, the only way we see William losing is if he has a dud performance at some point in the next two weeks — and while it’s possible, we don’t see it happening.
