NBC’s ‘The Voice’ spoilers: Sawyer Fredericks, Joshua Davis, Meghan Linsey, top 5 head home

Sawyer -“American Idol” is not the only singing show anymore that tends to emphasize the hometown visit. “The Voice” is now doing the same thing for their remaining five contestants going into next week’s show!

Per a report from Mjsbigblog, the likes of Sawyer Fredericks, Joshua Davis, India Carney, Megan Linsey, and Koryn Hawthorne will all be heading back to their hometowns for a series of events over the coming days that include parades, interviews, and other performances. It’s a chance to get the public more involved with the show, and to give contestants even more of a support base. The contestants live everywhere from Michigan (Joshua) to New York (Sawyer) to Louisiana (Koryn), so there should be a good chance here to see a nice cross-section of America as a whole.

Hopefully, getting to see some of these hometown visits will help to improve for the most part on what has been one of the weaker aspects of this season so far, and that is the real lack of suspense in the current hierarchy of the competition. Sawyer is the favorite by a longshot to win, and while we don’t mind it (he is very likable and a super-talented guy), it does make it a little less suspenseful week after week.

Hopefully, we’ll get a chance over the next few days to learn more about what the remaining contestants are singing. This hometown footage should be featured prominently on the next new episode Monday night.
