MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Dancing with the Stars’ alum signs on!

Awkward -The latest news that we have on “Awkward” is ultimately important for a trio of different reasons. First and foremost, this is a reminder that there are going to be two halves to the fifth and final season, which is something we were not entirely sure about at one point. In addition to that, we also now that there is going to be a massive time jump, and then also that there is a familiar face aboard the show.

Per Deadline, former “Mean Girls” star Jonathan Bennett, who was most recently on “Dancing with the Stars,” has been booked for many episodes in the second half of the season. He is going to play the part of Ethan, a guy who works alongside Ashley Rickards’ Jenna at a summer job. What is notable here, though, is that this is not actually going to be the summer after graduation; instead, it will take place following the first year of college, with many of the characters returning back to Palos Hills after spending so much time away.

The news about the time jump definitely changes things, mostly because it means that there is no guarantee many of these characters will have their desired endings after high school. We cannot say that we are that surprised, mostly because sometimes things don’t work out the way that you want them to right away. It may better suit these people to see who they are after school, and then find a way back to each other.

We will have some more news related to “Awkward” very soon, so be on the lookout!
