‘Supernatural’ season 10, episode 21 video: Watch a Jared Padalecki – Felicia Day scene

Wednesday night’s new episode of “Supernatural” is one where things start to get truly serious. Sam is starting to recognize the serious situation that his brother Dean is in, and what could happen to him in the event that nothing is done: The Mark of Cain could completely devour him, and there may not be any hope at all of being able to extract what was once great about him. He doesn’t want to see that happen.

Therefore, you cannot blame Jared Padalecki’s character for doing almost everything that he possibly can to lend a helping hand, even if that means going behind his back and recruiting Charlie (Felicia Day) in order to work alongside “one of the most powerful witches in the world” (you have one guess who that is) in order to find a last-minute way to cure what currently ails Dean.

The biggest thing that we can say about this scene as a whole is just that it does a tremendous job laying out the stakes, and also tries in some way to justify what is our biggest critique of the storyline at the moment: The idea of Sam continuing to lie to his brother, even though this has never ended well any time that it has happened in the past.

Also, let’s talk Easter eggs here for a second. Did anyone else catch Sam saying that he found “a codex”? It’s a nice little nod to Codex, the character Day plays on the web series “The Guild.” That has to be intentional, right?
