Is ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 6, episode 23 new tonight?

NCIS Los AngelesIf you love “NCIS: Los Angeles,” we understand if you are starting to feel a little bit anxious over the fact that we are nearing the end of the season. However, we also now have to say that you better be patient here. After all, there is going to be one more week until the two-part finale begins!

So what’s the reason for the preemption? It is tied solely to CBS airing a special tonight honoring David Letterman, whose last show is airing on the network come May 20. There is still time for them to cram the final two episodes of the May sweeps into the schedule, so they really do not feel that much pressure to do anything other than ensure that their schedule is filled. Don’t take the preemption as a major slight or a sign that the LL Cool J series is not going to be renewed.

When the show does return next week, it will do so with an episode that takes many members of the team over to Russia for one of the most daring and dangerous missions to date. While we cannot promise an episode that is necessarily the same as the “Deep Trouble” arc, this show does have a great habit of putting its characters in extreme jeopardy, only to find a way to get them out of it alive.

One other question we’re wondering is the status of Kensi and Deeks. Will the show try to make things more serious, or are they content with a slow burn given how long it took them to get together?
