‘Doctor Who’ season 9 spoilers: Kate Stewart returns!

Interested in learning a thing or two more when it comes to “Doctor Who“? Then you really don’t have to look any further than the following message: Kate Stewart is coming back for the ninth season! In the video below, Jemma Redgrave confirms that she is going to be returning to the BBC series for episodes seven and eight of the upcoming ninth season.

This is some further good news for fans of this character, given that she has made many sporadic appearances over the course of the past several seasons. We assume that she is one of many recurring characters who will turn up; we’ve already heard that there is desire to get Michelle Gomez back, and of course there are many popular guest stars ahead including Maisie Williams of “Game of Thrones” fame.

“Doctor Who” is at the moment a decent stretch into season 9, which is going to premiere on the BBC this fall. As a whole, we would say that the production period for the show this time has been at least reasonably quieter than what we had for season 8, mostly because there is no longer the issue of having to sell a new Doctor to the audience for the first time. Everyone already knows Peter Capaldi’s Twelve well, just as there is a sense of familiarity around Clara Oswald.

With this in mind, one of the real challenges for the series is mostly going to be finding a way to craft the relationship between these two as somehow still different and surprising. That is not always easy, but we know that there are many interesting ideas ahead.
