‘The X Factor’ UK: Press hypes up Carly Rae Jepsen – judging rumor

Don’t you love the billion different ways that a rumor can be started about someone becoming a judge on a singing competition? That is precisely what we have at the moment when it comes to Carly Rae Jepsen, and the issue of whether or not she is going to become a judge on the upcoming season of “The X Factor.”

Let’s bring to you the source of this latest rumor, which comes courtesy of some comments that the “I Really Want You” / “Call Me Maybe” singer gave in an interview with the Daily Star:

“If I got to live in London, then I’d be tempted to be a judge on one of your singing shows. I love the shopping and the people in London.”

Ultimately, she was making a lighthearted comment talking about a hypothetical situation. We haven’t heard anything about “The X Factor” looking at her for a position as a judge; as a matter of fact, we have heard very little about the search other than that Louis Walsh is leaving. For whatever reason, the press has focused more on female judge replacements, even though Mel B and Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini have not said that they are even leaving the show.

The one thing that we will give Jensen when it comes to possibly judging on this show is that she does at least have some reality TV experience. She was previously a contestant on “Canadian Idol” many years ago before rising to fame with “Call Me Maybe” around the world.
