Is ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4, episode 21 new tonight?

For those of you who are looking for the latest actions and adventures of your favorite Gladiators tonight, be prepare to be disappointed: There is no new episode of “Scandal” airing tonight. Ultimately, there is a simple reason for that: Shonda Rhimes is filling her two-hour block Thursday night with “Grey’s Anatomy.” Given everything that happened on the show last week, this is a show that really did need this extra time to figure out where it would go from there.

Ultimately, there is a little bit of solace / a silver lining in not getting a new episode tonight. You are going to be seeing Kerry Washington and company for two more weeks! The finale of the series is going to air on May 14 now as opposed to May 7, which means you get another week of programming. for the network, there is obviously a very big benefit here in that it allows them a chance to program another hour of sweeps when they were not going to have the chance previously.

If there are two words we would use to describe the rest of the season, it would be this: A bloodbath. This is going to be a chance to see what happens when Olivia and B613 go toe-to-toe in a way that we have not seen yet (and that is saying something). Also, what happens when Susan Ross continues to defy the Grant administration? We certainly expect some craziness to unfold on these two episodes, and we’ll have to see what happens.

Given the show is practically renewed for a season 5 based on ratings alone, we’re also looking forward to see a potential cliffhanger.
