‘Doctor Who’ season 9 video: Take a look behind the scenes!

Doctor Who -As many know at this point, there is a new season of “Doctor Who” premiering on the BBC later this year. However, what you may not have been in the know about on the same level is what goes on explicitly through every stage of production. The paparazzi does tend to give away a whole lot of the filming process (which is somewhat of a bummer due to spoilers), but the table reads are at least somewhat of a mystery … at least until now.

What we have for you below is really a rather nice slice of fun. In the video, comedian and purveyor of wonderful facial hair Rufus Hound speaks a little bit about his character, and you also get a small sneak peek of what the table read process is really like. It may not be the most eventful thing in the world to look it, but it is a chance for the cast and producers to get together and test out all of the dialogue, just to make sure that everything sounds and goes according to plan.

From here, this dialogue is of course taken out onto the set, and everyone has a real chance to deliver a winning performance.

The part about Hound in particular we enjoy, other than the aforementioned facial hair, is the sheer enthusiasm in which he exudes about the show. You can tell that he really loves what he is getting the chance to do, and that he also happens to be appearing on a show he has loved for years. The best guest stars are always the longtime fans.
