White House Correspondents’ Dinner 2015: President Barack Obama targets Dick Cheney, Michele Bachmann

C-SPAN -Tonight, the White House Correspondents’ Dinner once again took place, and it was once again a celebration of all things opulence … and also occasionally journalism in Washington DC.

Regardless of whether or not you agree with President Obama’s policies, one thing that we have to know over the years is that he is really good at this. He has great comic timing, and also seems perfectly willing to make fun of himself, his political party, and of course his opposition. He did plenty of all of these throughout the lengthy speech that he gave to members of the press. There were a few moments where serious politics were discussed, and that included health care to immigration to the military. There was also talk about Obama getting set to end his Presidency in a short amount of time.

Some of the more comedic highlights include the following:

1. Obama joking that Dick Cheney “was the worst President of his lifetime” after Cheney said the same thing about him.

2. The epic burn that he put on “journalists from CNN” when talking about Cecily Strong’s impersonation of Brooke Baldwin on “Saturday Night Live.”

3. Obama mocking the ratings of MSNBC.

4. A joke about Michele Bachmann claiming that Obama was going to bring about the End of Days.

5. Surprisingly, there were very few jokes directed at C-SPAN this year.

6. A great bit at the end with Keegan-Michael Key.

Of course, many jokes were predictable, such as Obama still getting some burn out of the birther controversy and also the claims that he was some sort of secret Muslim.
