‘The Flash’ spoilers: The Reverse Flash showdown looms in new promo

The Reverse Flash has in one way or another loomed large since the pilot of “The Flash,” but starting on Tuesday night’s “The Trap,” everything will finally start to unravel. For the first time, the entire crew at STAR Labs is on board with the notion of destroying Harrison Wells / Eobard Thawne, and doing whatever they need to do in order to stop him.

Unfortunately for them, finding a way to thwart a super-intelligent villain with powers is going to prove to be not so easy. Eobard has been preparing for this a long time, and therefore probably has mapped out much of what the other characters are going to do. To a certain extent, we also imagine that he may have even wanted to be found out. Why else keep so much of your secret identity at STAR Labs versus your home? It seems to be so much easier to hide who you are trying to be when you put your skeletons in a faraway closet.

One other thing we are looking forward to getting a few answers on is something simple when it comes to Cisco Ramon: Why did he start to have some visions when it comes to the alternate universe in “Out of Time”? There is going to be some sort of explanation for that eventually, and that will be fascinating to uncover.

We imagine that the final four episodes are going to revolve almost entirely on the relentless Barry vs. Dr. Wells battle, and there is no easy way to know how the show will write out the latter, if they even choose to at all. We just feel for the producers, who at the end of this are going to have to come up with a better villain for the second season.
