‘Chicago PD’ season 2 spoilers: Death is coming (and it will impact Sophia Bush’s Lindsay)

As you get to the end of a season of really dramatic show, there is one thing that you really do have to prepare yourself for: Death. It happens pretty often, and with “Chicago PD,” it looks like it will happen before the end of season 2.

So who is going to pass away? We cannot really give you much of an answer to that right now, but we can at least tell you one thing right now: It is not going to be Lindsay. However, it is going to impact her in a very significant way. Based on what Matt Olmstead tells Entertainment Weekly in a new interview, one other thing that you should know is that person who dies is most likely going to be a very important character:

“We’ve got a great bad guy, and one of the characters in P.D. doesn’t make it out alive, unfortunately … We obviously care about this character. It hits Lindsay the hardest. What we get out of it is, towards the end of the season, a spiral for Lindsay because, as we established from the show, she came from the wrong side of the tracks before Voight rehabilitated her and gave her a purpose. She starts to doubt if it was all worth it or if she doesn’t belong back on the other side of the tracks in the company of her mother, Bunny.”

We would not be surprised at all that season 3 begins with Sophia Bush’s character in a bad place. It would obviously make for some great material for her, and it would challenge more than ever why she is doing this job, and whether or not she wants to continue it. It brings her a newfound sense of purpose.
