‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Colton Haynes returns in ‘This Is Your Sword’
As it turns out, it appears that Colton Haynes is returning to “Arrow” a little bit earlier than most of us thought. After leaving the show in the “Broken Arrow” episode, he will be returning in some way for “This Is Your Sword,” the penultimate episode of season 3 airing on Wednesday, May 6. It is custom for the second-to-last episode of each season to be named after a Bruce Springsteen song. It’s a bit of an unusual tradition, but a tradition nonetheless.
As for the context of Roy’s return to the show, the synopsis below makes it clear that he is not going to be returning to Starling City. Instead, Roy will be heading out in order to find him:
“Oliver/Al Sah-him (Stephen Amell) finishes his training and is left with two final tasks to become the next Ra’s al Ghul. Ra’s (guest star Matt Nable) threatens Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law) and delivers some shocking news. Meanwhile, Malcolm (John Barrowman) makes a surprising offer to Team Arrow and Thea (Willa Holland) goes to see Roy (Colton Haynes).”
Where could Roy be hiding? It would benefit him most to be somewhere that is not either in Starling or Central City, where he would be found out and the manhunt would begin again. However, at the same time it would also benefit him to be able to go somewhere that he can continue to train, that way he is of value to either this show, “The Flash,” or the untitled spin-off series in the event he does get eventually brought back.

Roy can easily come back as Arsenal as everyone knows him as Arrow and he is dead so easy but Captain lance might hit the bottle again trying to prove he is Roy. Oliver will return as either Green Arrow or with another name leaving his old friend to run The League of Assassins while he is away. Felicity and Oliver may not be as one yet this may take a while. Thea will start to have split personalities for a few episode’s into season 4 Diggle will be ok you can’t kill him off. But there will be another wedding which may be Thea and Roy.
