‘Dancing with the Stars’ 20: Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Katherine Jenkins, Amy Purdy to return

The “Dancing with the Stars” tenth anniversary show is coming up in the near future; as a matter of fact, the show actually filmed last night. You may have heard already that Derek Hough is not going to be taking part as he recovers from an injury suffered earlier this week.

So who is all returning to take part in this event? Some of the former pros coming back include Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Anna Trebunskaya, and Karina Smirnoff. We would love to see some longtime early pros like Cheryl Burke come back, but we don’t have anything definitive on that at the moment.

In terms of former stars, you are going to see a wide array that includes Katherine Jenkins, Kelly Monaco, Melissa Rycroft, Chelsea Kane, Amy Purdy, Kristi Yamaguchi, and many more. There is also going to be a segment featuring specifically former NFL contestants, which include Donald Driver, Hines Ward, Kurt Warner, Jacoby Jones, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice. That’s a pretty impressive list.

As a whole, we are excited to see this special air when it comes on Tuesday, April 28. You’ve got a pretty impressive crop of people taking part, but the funny thing here is that rather than just some routines, we’d almost prefer more of a history lesson about how the show came about, some of the best and worst dancers in the history of the show, and how things have evolved behind the scenes or how the show has changed the lives of the pros who have taken part.
