‘Bones’ season 10 spoilers: Will Booth and Brennan’s second child be born this season?
On TV, the first child from beloved characters is often the one that gets the majority of the limelight. No one likes repetition (when it comes to storylines that is), so this typically means that by the time the second child is born, the writers and producers try to figure out something else in order to bring them into the world without it being the same way we’ve already seen. Sometimes, it is just finding out about it after a hiatus.
While the “Bones” producers have not necessarily confirmed that Booth and Brennan’s second child will be born offscreen, we do know that this is not on slate to happen at any point during season 10. This is according to show executive producer Stephen Nathan, who had the following to say to TV Guide:
“[Booth and Brennan’s] baby won’t be born this season … We figured we’ve been down that road, and I don’t think we could have a better birth than we had for Christine.”
Our feeling is that more than likely, we will start season 11 (provided that there is a season 11) learning that the child was born in the months in which they were away. While they are writing the pregnancy into the show, we don’t get the sense that the series is really looking to emphasize this as a major storyline. There are some other big plans for the rest of the season, which include some exciting cases, struggles for Booth (i.e. his gambling addiction), and some new villains for the characters to take on who are different than any we have encountered so far.
