‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4, episode 18 reaction: Boss on key move for Jennifer Morrison’s Emma

Emma -Is Emma Swam truly a hero, a villain, or something in between? We still feel like this is something she is still trying to figure out on “Once Upon a Time” this season, and she may continue to all the way to the finale. We know now that she is potentially destined to turn to darkness, and learning the truth about Snow and Charming’s actions was the first step. Now, she has killed Cruella de Vil, a woman who was effectively powerless given that she no longer possesses the ability to kill anyone.

Did Emma know this at the time of killing Cruella? No, and we’re sure that there are some out there who will claim that she was just acting to protect her son, who was in seemingly grave danger from her vantage point. Even if you do feel her actions were somewhat justified, executive producer Adam Horowitz teases to TVLine that they will still have some rather-harsh consequences:

“If you thought Emma was in danger of going dark from learning what her parents did [to Maleficent”s daughter Lily], now we have to deal with the danger based on her own actions.”

What could add to this is the resurfacing of Lily Sunday night, who is going to have an ax to grind with her parents over what they did to separate her from her mother Maleficent. Given that she has already killed once this season, could she do it again? It is at least something that we have to consider.
