‘Call the Midwife’ season 4, episode 4 preview (PBS): Trixie – Barbara teases and more

Call the Midwife -This weekend will once again be a jam-packed one when it comes to programming, and at the center of it all (at least for those of you who enjoy period British television) will be another episode of “Call the Midwife” on PBS. Be prepared to see an episode stuffed with complications for many characters; relationships will be tested, children will be born, and above all else many characters will end the episode in a very different place than where they started.

As we have done with every one of these other preview articles on Saturdays this spring, we’ve got for you four specific teases below. There are no major spoilers; think of it as an easy way to prepare further for the action ahead.

1. We would say that in many ways, the resolve of women through hard times is one of the largest themes in this episode. Many characters face extraordinary challenges, and they do almost everything that they can in order to properly face them.

2. Shelagh starts to think about her career past and present after a few extraordinary moments for her.

3. Trixie’s story will be front and center for a good percentage of the episode, as some movement in Tom’s professional life starts to make her question her relationship with him and so much more. Where this story takes you should come as a shock.

4. Barbara also gets a chance to take on a very complicated storyline this week, one that further reminds her how for some children, they are going to have struggles from almost the moment they first enter this world.
