‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: On how Nina Dobrev’s last episode could end

Vampire Diaries -Given that Nina Dobrev is not exiting “The Vampire Diaries” until the very end of the sixth season, we imagine that the show will do almost everything that it can to make use of the time that they have with her. This includes coming up with what could be the perfect narrative for her to have the best exit possible.

While we imagine that the writers / producers are going to understandably want to keep almost everything when it comes to this episode a secret for as long as humanly possible, we can at least tell you right now that this episode will be looking towards the future. Whether or not it is Elena’s future specifically is to be seen, but executive producer Julie Plec tells Entertainment Weekly that for the time being, we will end by looking ahead:

“The season ends with a flash forward … The show’s not cut yet, so by the time I’m done with it, it might not, but currently it does.”

One way you could definitely end the season with a great impact would be finding a way to ensure that Elena gets everything that she wants. Maybe this ending is a way for the series to prove that she does. However, at the same time we wonder whether or not this will be something that many viewers ultimately respond to. If that future does not involve Damon, it could be as polarizing as “True Blood” ending with Sookie having a family with some random guy.

Obviously, we are just speculating here. We still have many weeks to go before finding out the ending for certain.
