‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert’s ‘Ghost Town’ cover, Katharine McPhee on ‘James Corden’

Ghost Town -It has been a little while since we’ve brought you any “American Idol” notes, but why not kick off this edition with some of the latest single news from Adam Lambert? We’ve presented to you here the official single cover for “Ghost Town,” which is the first single off of his upcoming third studio album “The Original High.” He has been working hard for many months on the album, and this song will drop early next week.

We dig the smoky-cool vibe that is apparent in this cover, and it makes us all the more curious to hear the song itself. The song itself has a subdued, cool, but still pop vibe to it based on the little that we’ve heard so far. Can we also put it out there into the universe that we’d love to hear him perform the song on “American Idol” later this season? We understand that there is not a whole lot of time now that the show has changed its format to once a week, but given that he was a guest judge earlier this season, he is an appropriate person to bring back.

Katharine McPhee’s tax day fun – Yes, that is a statement that we never imagined we would be saying out loud. McPhee was a guest on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” earlier this week, and she joined him for a performance of “tax day songs,” which were really just remixed versions of Christmas songs.

McPhee is also still promoting the season 1 finale of “Scorpion,” which airs on CBS Monday night.
