‘The Bachelor’ host Chris Harrison finds himself another gig

The Bachelor LogoDoesn’t Chris Harrison have enough jobs already? You would really think so, given that the man is already the host of “The Bachelor,” “The Bachelor,” “Bachelor in Paradise,” and has also emceed the Miss America Pageant. Why not just go ahead and add another to the resume? This was clearly the plan of somebody, given that Chris was just appointed to be the host of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” in the place of Terry Crews next season.

We probably have a little more loyalty to this game show than many others, given that we are a former “Millionaire” contestant ourselves back from the Meredith Vieira days. Chris does seem like a good choice, at least in that he’s experienced, he knows how to be around ordinary people, and he somehow has room in his schedule to do this. Most of his shows film for a handful of weeks at a time, and then he gets solid breaks in between. He will probably get to film this entire season of the game show during these breaks.

In a statement per Deadline, Disney/ABC Home Entertainment and Television Distribution president Janice Marinelli said the following:

“Chris is an accomplished host and valued member of the Disney/ABC family and now he’ll also be bringing his classic talent and charm to Millionaire.”

So why is Crews leaving the show after one season? The site claims that it is mostly a matter of scheduling. He is a regular on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and also has some other film roles coming up, and this makes it so that the show is going in a new direction.
