‘Saturday Night Live’: Scarlett Johansson to host May 2 show

SNL -Tonight’s “Saturday Night Live” episode hosted by Taraji P. Henson is the last of a three-week stretch, and that only means one thing: A long hiatus is upon us! Specifically, we are going to be waiting around for a few weeks now until May 2, which is going to hopefully be the first of three more episodes this season.

So who is going to be hosting the proceedings for this show? It is none other than Scarlett Johansson, who has a new movie coming out in “The Avengers: Age of Ultron.” There is no musical guest announced yet. She has hosted the show before, so there is no immediate reason to worry about whether or not she possesses the talent to deliver in the role. Still, we are hoping that there is an alumni that turns up at some point in these final episodes. What about Amy Poehler for the finale? Can we please make that happen? It’d be great.

One of the other interesting things here is that this is actually the second cast member from the summer blockbuster to host this season, as Chris Hemsworth came on earlier at a time when he really was not promoting too much else other than the big-budget movie coming out.

Granted, the thing with Scarlett is that she always has a wide array of other projects that she is working on, and are set to come out. She took a brief break to have a child, but she should be out there with more work soon enough.
