‘House of Lies’ season 5: Showtime confirms renewal with no promo

In case you did not know already, “House of Lies” is coming back for another season! Showtime really wants you to know just how official the renewal is, and with that in mind, we come bearing the first “promo” that they have released on the subject.

With that said, we cannot sit here and honestly say that this is the most revealing thing that you’ve ever seen. Showtime plays this game almost every season, and it consists of them giving you a clip of highlights from the past season, with a reminder that the show is coming back. It may be construed as useless to some diehard fans who have already heard about the renewal, but if we are being honest, we rather like it. What we find that is important here is that someone who has subscribed to the network’s YouTube account will get a chance to find this out without having to browse around for it. We wish that other networks did it, since it gives you so much more transparency than what other networks tend to do. They tend to take forever to announce their renewals, and then just either announce them or a cancellation in a press release.

What will be interesting about season 5 now is that in some ways, season 4 could have been a series finale. There was no massive cliffhanger like Marty Kaan facing prison. His life had started to improve, mostly because he and Jeannie had welcomed their child, and their romantic relationship was picking up steam again. They finally decided to move past the pettiness, and hopefully into a much better future together.
