‘The Walking Dead’ video: Andrew Lincoln, cast on season 5, season 6 implications

Sunday night, we saw the ending of another journey on “The Walking Dead,” but one that is really more of a rest stop through what is going to be a positively insane season 6. When you have a group like the Wolves still out there somewhere, it is hard to really imagine anything staying peaceful for long.

Unfortunately, the new video below does not really speak in specific terms so much as it just does give you a further sense of what the general themes of season 5 were, and how those will impact the story moving forward. As executive producer Scott M. Gimple notes, the majority of the story this time around was focused on how these people realized who they are in this new world. Are they good guys, bad guys, or somewhere in between? What they’ve learned about who they are in this world will be critical as they start to look at what is to come.

Andrew Lincoln. Steven Yeun, Josh McDermitt, and Sonequa Martin-Green are four of the actors who appear in the video discussing their journey. To us hearing from Yeun and Lincoln at this stage is more powerful than ever, since these are two guys who have inhabited their characters since the beginning. They know their personal high points and low points, what they are capable of, and also how they handle danger and despair.

We would be surprised if there is a particularly large time jump from the end of this season to the beginning of next one, mostly because we know the Wolves are out there now. How long will they spend circling before making their attack on Alexandria?
