‘Fear the Walking Dead’ spoilers: AMC releases first promo of spin-off

Tonight, AMC apparently followed the suggestion of either us or all of America: Don’t wait that long to give us the first look of “Fear the Walking Dead.” The much-anticipated spin-off series is coming this summer, and the network finally unveiled a short promo before the “Walking Dead” finale ended tonight. Previously, we thought they were holding on to it until “Talking Dead” came to a close, but we got an early treat!

What seems to be interesting about the show already is the setting and the time period. We’re in Los Angeles, and we are there when the zombie apocalypse is still in its earliest of stages. At this point, everyone seemed to just believe this was a dangerous form of the flu. Eventually, they are going to learn otherwise, but starting to see that play out should be a heck of a lot of fun.

As a whole, we are getting more and more excited about this show, but we have to admit that we started off with extremely low expectations. This was looking more and more like a mere cash grab, but with Cliff Curtis and Kim Dickens aboard, plus some good producers and writers, this could turn into something special. We just hope that it’s not going to be exactly like “The Walking Dead” and give it some room to breathe and turn into it’s own show.

One other thing that you need to remember here is simply that this show is not entirely a prequel. While you are going to start off seeing the early days of the apocalypse, the goal here is for it to eventually move forward into the same period of time that you are seeing with the flagship series. We know that the idea of a cross over is too tempting for them not to be considering, even at these early stages.
