‘The Voice UK’ rankings: Will Stevie McCrorie, Lucy O’Byrne, Karis Thomas make final?

Voice -Today, the remaining eight contestants on “The Voice UK” are lining up for what could end up being a vocal battle royale. Many of them will enter, but only four are going to make it to the other side for the live finale.

Who are they going to be? While we feel like there are a couple of reasonably-clear favorites, what we’ve learned about the past few seasons (where we’ve been surprised by every winner) is that almost anything can happen when you have the public voting on such a small sample size. Therefore, treat these as our own personal takes, and not a definitive look at the remaining contestants.

8. Vikesh Champaneri (Team Will) – Vikesh is pure camp, and we love that about him. Unfortunately, pure camp doesn’t really win the competition.

7. Joe Woolford (Team Rita) – He’s a good-looking young guy, which is exactly the demographic that does well on this show. The unfortunate thing is that his last performance was to us was a step back from his “Hey Ya!” cover.

6. Emmanuel Nwamadi (Team Ricky) – He’s very good, but we still cannot quite figure out everything about his voice. He’s still a bit of a puzzle, which is both a good and bad thing. He can sing, but sometimes his falsetto is a little unneeded.

5. Sasha Simone (Team Tom) – We would probably rank her a spot or two lower, but she benefits this week from being the only Tom Jones act. He has his fans, and they should rally behind her and with a good performance, she could advance.

4. Sheena McHugh (Team Will) – Sheena had our favorite performance of this past episode with “Glow” mixed with “Princess of China.” The only real probably she has at the moment is the sole fact that Will has three artists left, and there may be some out there who vote based on coach.

3. Karis Thomas (Team Rita) – We don’t entirely love her song choice from this past episode, but she has such a natural charisma about her. She’s not going to be forgotten, and as you can probably tell here, we are pretty high on many of the remaining women.

2. Lucy O’Byrne (Team Will) – At this point, standing out is a huge asset, and Lucy does that. Opera may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it really doesn’t matter when you have this many people left in the competition.

1. Stevie McCrorie (Team Ricky) – We’ve ranked him #1 for almost the entire season. Why in the world would we change that now? The guy has too much going on at present, from the voice to the personality to the stage presence.
