‘Doctor Who’ season 9: ‘Veep’ creator would love to write episode at some point

Doctor Who -We’re not quite sure that there is another show out there like “Doctor Who,” at least when it comes to getting so many famous people to be interested in taking on a role in making the show. We’ve heard Peter Jackson talk about wanting to direct, Neil Gaiman has already written for the series, and even current star Peter Capaldi was a huge fan of the series when he was young. This is a show that keeps giving back in many ways.

So who is the latest person interested in writing an episode? It is none other than Armando Iannucci, the creator / showrunner of “Veep” on HBO and also the man behind “The Thick of It,” a British series that also starred Capaldi. Speaking to the Guardian in a recent interview, he explained that this is something that he is very interested in taking on at some point in the relatively near future:

“I’ve spoken off and on to them but it’s a case of being able to fit something in … In our conversations there was an idea we had, but it may be a wee while yet before we get round to working out what it would be.”

Clearly, there are some major issues that keep all parties relatively busy, and probably slow down the process. Fist and foremost, Iannucci is dealing with running another show! That is one of the hardest jobs out there, even if it is one like “Veep,” where you only have a certain number of episodes a season.
