‘Justified’ series finale spoilers: First details of final showdown

If you love “Justified,” then we figure that you have already cleared April 14 from your schedule. After all, that is when the series finale of the show is going to air, and you are going to have a chance to witness the ultimate duel between Raylan and Boyd. As it turns out, Ava is also going to be around for it!

There’s nothing enormously spoilery about the synopsis for “The Promise” released by FX this week, save for we suppose the news that all three of these characters are going to be around for the episode. We felt fairly confident that this would be the case anyway, though we admit that we were at least partially nervous about Joelle Carter’s character over the next couple of weeks. Given that Raylan and Boyd are the two figures in the innermost circle, we wouldn’t have been shocked to see the last episode all about them.

We’ve spent enough time now setting this up. Below, take a short peek at what is coming up in this episode, and also some of the credits to go along with it:

“Raylan, Boyd, and Ava fight one last, bloody battle to find out who leaves Harlan alive. Written by Graham Yost & Fred Golan & Dave Andron & Benjamin Cavell; directed by Adam Arkin.”

“Justified” has some pretty heavy expectations to match here in terms of FX series finale. While we know that there were some detractors for the “Sons of Anarchy” finale, we feel like it was mostly adored by the majority of its fans. It and “Breaking Bad” are two of the more successful finales as of late, and we hope that the flops like “Dexter” and “How I Met Your Mother” are now in the rear-view mirror.

What do you hope to see on the “Justified” series finale, and who do you think is the most-likely to emerge alive? Share with a comment.
