‘The Voice UK’ results: Did Sheena McHugh, Joe Woolford, Karis Thomas make semifinals?

Voice -Tonight’s episode of “The Voice UK” was definitely long. There is no getting around that. You had a total of 12 artists perform, and not only that, but they also then all had to sit around and wait for results while Olly Murs and reigning champion Jermain Jackman came back to perform. (Jermain’s pink suit may be the actual winner of the night.)

We have for you the full list of advancing artists below, and while it was good to see many of the best singers actually make it to the next round, we cannot sit here and act particularly shocked by most of the people who are going through. They were easy to telegraph beforehand.

Put through by the coaches

Stevie McCrorie (Team Ricky) – A very good vocalist, and also a likable guy and favorite to win it all. Really, there was no shocker here in the slightest.

Sasha Simone (Team Tom) – We do still worry about the confidence, but the talent is there, and maybe this performance will finally convince her that she is as good as everyone considers her to be.

Karis Thomas (Team Rita) – Another non-shocker here. So far, the coaches have put through people who we ranked at #1 in each team entering the night.

Lucy O’Byrne (Team Will) – We ranked Sheena McHugh #1 going into this, and we do think she should have been given this spot. Maybe this is strategy on Will’s part to save his opera singer, in hopes that the public votes for Sheena.

Put through by the public

Sheena McHugh (Team Will) – Like we said, strategy. It proved to be a smart move for the coach to ensure that two very likable and strong contestants advanced.

Emmanuel Nwamadi (Team Ricky) – He was in second place in our opinion on this team, and the results here echoed that.

Joe Woolford (Team Rita) – We knew he had the talent to make it through to this point, and it’s nice that new coach Rita has two very different representatives.

Vikesh Champaneri (Team Will) – The one surprise of the night was seeing Tom move on with only one singer. Given Sasha’s struggles with confidence, this is starting to look like it could be a tough season for the Welsh icon.
