President Obama takes part in Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘mean tweets’ tradition

Jimmy Kimmel -If there is one thing that we’ve come to know about “Jimmy Kimmel Live” over the years, it is that he loves forcing celebrities to make fun of themselves. To be fair, we also enjoy the “mean tweets” segment very much. It’s completely ridiculous, but at the same time it’s fun that the people taking part are in on. They get the joke, and most of the really terrible tweets aren’t really included in the bit.

For the latest evidence of this, just take a look at the video below featuring President Barack Obama. Here, the Commander-in-Chief answers what are really some softball mean tweets, which makes a little bit of sense given that there are probably plenty of people out there with tweets about him that they couldn’t print. (The same could be said for any political, regardless of party; hating politicians has become an American tradition.)

Still, the video is funny enough, though from a comedy perspective we much prefer the clips that feature a variety of different people all reading various tweets. It’s good to get multiple different perspectives, and not just one person who you know going into it already has a pretty good sense of humor about himself.

Obama also did a sit-down interview with Kimmel for the show, but we don’t really think it had the same sort of viral potential that this does … mostly because almost all of these have a tendency to go viral no matter who is in them.

Kimmel is one of many late-night hosts who have interviews this President, as the likes of Jay Leno and David Letterman have also sat down with him.
