‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 6, episode 18 review: Why is Deeks being investigated?
“NCIS: Los Angeles” is back with a new episode this week and we couldn’t be happier about it. March is always a weird time for TV since February sweeps just ended and networks want to save their best episode for May sweeps, so that leaves March with a lot of repeats or no episodes at all.
Kensi and Deeks’ relationship is still going strong and are being a lot more open abut it… not necessarily at the office but in public places like parks. They are not only having a much deeper emotional connection, but they are also having a much more physical connection… or at least they are talking about their love life more then ever before. It’s something that we really like to see since we’ve all waited 6 long seasons for them to get together. While at the park, getting in their morning workout, they notice a woman taking pictures of them, then getting in a car and driving away. Who is she and why is she so interested in Kensi and Deeks?
When Kensi and Deeks are separated by Hetty on the current mission Deeks learns from his new partner Callen that pretty much everyone at the station knows about their relationship, but he’s not sure about Owen. Deeks confronts Hetty about separating him from Kensi and she reveals that they are looking into the woman (who may or may not be a threat) who was taking pictures of them and that until they figure it out they need to stay separated. He agrees, but we learn that there is more to this woman taking photos that Hetty knows and isn’t sharing with anyone but Nell.
When Kensi has a chance to confront the woman following them around, she identifies herself as a cop that seems to be investigating Deeks. Kensi and Deeks confront Hetty about the situation and Hetty reveals that there isn’t much known as to why the LAPD is investigating Deeks. Hetty says that she separated them because she knows that the LAPD will use everything they can against Deeks and that includes Kensi.
This was a great twist! Normally when shows get couples together they rip them apart with another person or some fight, but this tension of Deeks being investigated is something we didn’t see coming and will definitely be a test of their trust in one another. Episode grade: A-
