‘Gotham’ spoilers: ‘The Newsroom’ actor set to play Lucius Fox

Gotham -Before “Gotham” comes to a close this season, we are going to get a chance to see one more character who should be familiar to fans of Batman all the world over: Lucius Fox. You know him from the Christopher Nolan movies as Morgan Freeman’s character, but he of course existed long before that in the DC Comics.

So who is going to be taking on this exemplary man on the show? Per a report from Deadline, Chris Chalk of “The Newsroom” and “Homeland” is going to get a chance to play this role. Fox is a tech expert for Wayne Enterprises, and he will appear for the first time in the penultimate episode of the season. However, there is going to be an option for him to return at some point in the second season.

One of the great things about this sort of gig for Chalk is that given that Fox is alive while Bruce Wayne is Batman, there could be a variety of opportunities for him to appear.

One other thing that will be interesting to watch out for on the show next season is getting to see a variety of different characters inhabit the spotlight. After all, we just heard earlier today for the first time that one series regular is probably not going to be returning for the second season. That’s somewhat of a bummer, but it may be the best thing for all parties involved in the end.
