‘Big Brother 17,’ ‘Under the Dome’ season 3 premiere dates revealed

What's she saying? -Want to see when some of your favorite CBS summer shows are coming back? Well, we come bearing some good news.

The network confirmed their summer that the 17th season of the reality mega-hit “Big Brother” is going to be premiering come Wednesday, June 24 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. The schedule laid out here is almost entirely identical to what we’ve seen over the course of some past seasons. New episodes will air on Wednesdays, Sundays, and then Thursdays, which are the live evictions taking place an hour later at 9:00 (with the exception of the June 25 episode, which will air at 8:00). There’s not a whole lot of buzz yet as to whether or not we could be having a season full of returning players, but CBS almost seems to be moving away from that now in hopes of cultivating future stars.

Meanwhile, the network also confirmed that season 3 of “Under the Dome” is going to premiere come July 25 at 9:00 with a two-hour premiere. Following that, it will air weekly starting at 10:00. We imagine this move is to capitalize on a better lead-in, and try something different for a show that has been struggling as of late.

Meanwhile, season 2 of the Halle Berry series “Extant” will premiere on Wednesday, July 1 at 10:00. This is a similar timeslot to what the show had in its first season, and we’re still somewhat shocked by the renewal. Then again, the network is particularly shrewd, so we imagine there is a reason for this.
