‘Dancing with the Stars’ spotlight: Is rooting for Robert Herjavec a good investment?

Dancing with the Stars -We always want to be honest on these “Dancing with the Stars” spotlights, so we’ll start by saying this: We’re probably going to root for Robert to win this season. After all, we cover “Shark Tank” extensively at CarterMatt, and he is one of our favorite sharks on there. He’s a hard worker, has a good story behind him, and people do know who he is. He is also one of the underrated cast members of this show when it comes to entertainment, since he is one of the most game people to try out the crazy new products that are brought in there (and there are plenty of those). The question is if people will want to come over and vote for him here.

Before we dive in here, a quick reminder: You can take a look at our other spotlights for season 20 so far over at the link here!

Age – 51

Claim to Fame – Having a rags-to-riches story where he worked hard on his way to fame and fortune. In addition to being the CEO of the Herjavec Group, he is also of course one of the longtime stars on ABC’s “Shark Tank.” He has also appeared on “Dragon’s Den,” and is a car racing enthusiast.

Strengths – To be as successful as he is, you have to have drive. Robert’s certainly determined, and he has a competitive drive and thirst for trying new things. He’s going to put his all into this, and we imagine that he will have the support of his fellow sharks and members of the business community. He also has an experienced pro in Kym Johnson, and her fans may come out for her after some seasons away from the show.

Weaknesses – While he does keep in shape, we’re not sure whether he actually has rhythm. He’s also not a natural entertainer, and unless you watch “Shark Tank” or read business publications, you may not have a clue who he is. Mark Cuban only lasted a short while when he was on the show, though granted he was also not on “Shark Tank” at that time. (Granted again, Mark was also reasonably well-known before becoming a shark.)

Prediction – Maybe Robert will make it several weeks like Mark will. We want to root for him, but we’re not sure there is a huge cross-section between “Shark Tank” viewers and ballroom dancing fanatics. He’s going to have to work the charm and the viewers with the voters early, and if he can endear himself to new fans, maybe he could be a darkhorse to go a while.
