‘Girls’ season 4, episode 6 preview: Ray takes ‘umbridge,’ Marnie’s relationship woes

Is tomorrow night’s “Girls” going to be a culmination of most of the past several weeks of drama? We’re not entirely sure that “culmination” is the right word for it, but if nothing else, we do very much know that it will do its part to try to pay off most of the stories that we’ve seen as of late … starting with Ray and his disdain for all of the cars that pile up outside of his apartment due to traffic.

In what will be his “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” moment, Ray is going to present his case to what appears to be some sort of committee on this episode, and this group may only be about as competent as some of the folks working over on “Parks and Recreation.” They all have virtually zero interest in anything other than his vocabulary.

Meanwhile, tension is going to point between Desi and Marnie now that the two are actually together. Specifically, we are talking here about how he wants to spend more time working on his motorcycle than music. Is a breakup happening here in more ways than one? We hope that Marnie keeps her musical ambitions going, mostly because we find them to be for the most party hysterical.

Also, Hannah’s looking for a new job, and that is not going to be easy for her given how choosy she is. Given how she has no boyfriend now, either, she really is starting from the bottom back in New York City.
