‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8 spoilers: Will Howard’s father ever enter the picture?

Tonight’s new episode of “The Big Bang Theory” is going to obviously raise many questions and open the dialogue for a number of things moving forward, especially with the character of Howard Wolowitz. Even if she never really appeared on the screen save for a brief glimpse here or there, his mother Debbie was an enormous part of his life. She was a focal point of the show in the early seasons, and even earlier this year, she spawned an interesting story with Stuart as he became her caretaker, and she in turn helped him to open up the comic book shop again.

One inevitable question many are going to have now of course revolves around Howard’s father, who we know ran out on him when he was little. Save for a story revolving around a letter, we really have not really touched on much here.

While executive producer Steven Molaro tells The Hollywood Reporter that they are going to deal with the loss of Carol Ann Susi in many ways over the course of the rest of the season, they are not planning to introduce the character of the father anytime soon:

“It’s so far away, I don’t think it would even happen this season but it’s something that I don’t have a good name or answer for right now. It’s hard not to think about: Does he know this even happened [with Debbie]? It’s a very legitimate question that I don’t have the answer to yet.”

Molaro confirmed that we are not going to have a proper funeral episode of the show, but that they still have many different storylines where Howard has to cope with life without his mother around.
