‘Mistresses’ season 3 spoilers: Justin Hartley confirmed to be returning

While we know for sure that Alyssa Milano is not going to be back playing Savi on “Mistresses” anytime soon, there is something else that we can say with some confidence: You are going to be seeing a little bit more of Justin Hartley!

According to TV Guide, the “Smallville” alum and recent “Revenge” recurring player will be appearing in at least the start of the season once again as Scott, the love interest for Joss who was left at the altar. Instead, she decided that she would rather make out on the beach with Harry, who seemed to lose his shirt in miraculous fashion during the whole ordeal. This is sure to upset Savi, which could be one of the ways in which the show manages to explain away her sudden absence when the show picks back up.

We knew already that there was not going to be a time jump (at least at first), star Jes Macallan furthers that along by saying that the show will be tackling the consequences of Joss’ choice almost head-on:

“A lot of where Season 3 starts is dealing with what the massive repercussions that choice will bring … We know it’s going to be wrapped up, but we don’t know how they’re going to handle it.”

The new season of “Mistresses” is filming in Vancouver (which is one of the main reasons behind Milano’s exit after production was moved), and it will be officially returning to ABC at some point this summer. How the show fares without her will be an interesting test, since she was the show’s biggest name, and clearly was in the forefront of most promotional photos (including the one above).
