ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4, episode 11 video: Kerry Washington and a statement

We’ve already made it clear that we were not the biggest fan of what “Scandal” chose to do with its winter premiere “Run,” mostly because we feel like a ton of it was just filler material to remind us (just in case we somehow forgot) that Kerry Washington is a great actress. At the end of the day, how much of that is going to be important to the long-term growth of the Olivia Pope character? We’re not entirely sure.

So for those of you like us who found yourself feeling somewhat frustrated, Thursday night’s new episode “Where’s the Black Lady?” may be the perfect sort of solace to you. This is the opportunity to actually find out more of what Ian’s orders are, and if there is a way for any of the Gladiators / Fitz / someone else to actually save Olivia from her current prison. The sneak peek video below really just has one purpose, and that s giving up a further taste of just how terrible these people really are. She reads a statement into a camera, which is basically done in a way similar to cue cards on “Saturday Night Live.”

Ian’s reminder to Olivia when she balks is that there are people nearby who are dangerous, and not anywhere near as understanding as he is. With that being said, we doubt anyone will kill her. Clearly, there is still a use and a motivation for keeping her alive that has not been met yet.
