‘Ground Floor’ reportedly canceled by TBS

TBS -Bad news coming out today for all of those who love the TBS show “Ground Floor“: It looks like the February 10 finale for the Skylar Astin comedy is going to be its last episode.

According to TVLine, the network has canceled the show after two seasons, which comes to us as a pretty significant surprise. The ratings for the show were actually an improvement on the final season of “Cougar Town,” and while we wouldn’t say that it was a smash hit by any means, it seemed to develop a fairly passionate and loyal fan following. For the record, TBS denied to the outlet that the show is officially canceled, but the tweet below from executive producer Bill Lawrence certainly suggests to us that the show is over.

Lawrence does make an interesting point in bringing up new TNT / TBS programming head Kevin Reilly, and it goes beyond just his habit for canceling some of his shows. Reilly is in the process of trying to shape these two networks into what he wants him to be, which is why we have seen a variety of different cancellations over the past several months. We already get the impression that with TNT, he is looking to specifically move the network away from being the home of police shows like it has been the past few years. With TBS, we are still trying to figure out what he has planned.

Ultimately, we would worry a little bit if you are any show on TBS that has lower ratings at the moment. We don’t know what he will plan to do.
